Harpitree Music School – Terms & Conditions
Please read the following terms and conditions carefully. By enrolling, you agree to the policies below.
1. Minimum Registration
- Weekly lessons: minimum registration is one full term (9–11 weeks).
- Fortnightly lessons: minimum of 5 lessons.
- Term dates follow the NZ school calendar.
2. Public Holidays
- No lessons are held on public holidays.
- Lessons falling on public holidays are not charged.
3. Make-Up Lessons
-
Lesson cancellation and rescheduling opens 24 hours prior to your lesson time. Click Here
-
Any lessons cancelled within 24 hours are not eligible for make-up lesson credits.
-
For make-up lesson bookings, the booking window opens from 2 weeks before the lesson time and closes 12 hours prior to the lesson.
-
It is the student’s responsibility to check the booking system and arrange their own make-up lessons. Any issues finding a slot, students can discuss with the school office, however, we do not guarantee to offer lessons for your cancellation.
-
We value our students’ time and do not limit the number of reschedules for your convenience. However, our tutors’ time is also valuable, and make-up lessons can only be offered during their normal teaching hours, unless they agree to.
-
If you are likely to be unavailable for more than five lessons in a term, please consider enrolling in fortnightly lessons instead of weekly lessons.
- Students must arrive on time—tutors cannot extend lessons for late arrivals.
- Late cancellations cannot be rescheduled or refunded.
- Credits do not roll over to the next term.
- An online lesson may be possible when unwell (tutor dependent).
- When your tutor is unavailable, a substitute or lesson credit will be offered and the office will assist to find slots.
4. Health & Safety
- Students under 14 must be accompanied outside the lesson rooms (parents must be present in the building).
- Parents may observe lessons at the tutor’s discretion.
- The school is not liable for injury, loss or damage on the premises.
- Damage to equipment or property must be compensated by the responsible party.
5. Fees & Payments

- Overdue payments may incur a 10% late penalty.
- Ending enrolment requires 4 weeks’ notice.
- Fees are non-refundable.
- Books, materials and exam fees are additional.
